Research Project on an “emerging world region.”
A Research Project on an “emerging world region.” Throughout the course, we have also begun to think about “emerging world regions.” For example, WRGC describes an example of such regions on p. 7: “the Arctic, which has often been viewed in fragments (as part of a number of different world regions, such as the United States and Canada, Europe, and Russia), is now linked closely together through human migration, international trade, and shared environmental problems” (see also pages 96-97). Another example of an emerging world region is the noncontiguous world region of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa). If you choose this option, you will explore one of these emerging world regions, or propose your own emerging world region.
