explain the process of organizational change
There are many different models that are used to explain the process of organizational
change. As a leader, your perspective on how the organization changes can impact the
success of the change. You must remember that for an organization to make a change,
individuals within the organization must transition from their current behavior to a new
behavior. As a leader, your job is to help them understand why they need to change and how
they can change.
With this in mind, we are going to explore the issues associated with culture and leading
organizational change.
Choose a change that you would like to lead in your current organization or in another
organization that you are involved with.
Describe the change and why you think it needs to change.
Which model of organizational change would help you to move forward with this
change?
What challenges would you face at the individual and team level?
What guidelines would you combine with the model of organizational change you
have chosen to successfully lead this change?
How would you take steps to create a culture that embraces change?

Instructions to Learners
Locate and research at least two sources to discover additional information about your topic
choice. Use your text to create a foundation for the theory. This must be a concise
evaluation of the case, so provide information on your understanding of the application of
theory to the marketing choices.
Develop your analysis using the four following sections:
Section 1: Introduction and situational analysis: Describe the change model(s) giving
appropriate background information, that you would incorporate into a change initiative.
This is also where you do your situational analysis – identifying factors related to the
individual(s) involved (consider the readings from this module), company and managerial
practices and policies, external factors such as economic pressure, and any other aspects of the situation that you believe helped create the current situation and affect the leader’s
perspective.
Section 2: Analysis using change theory: Consider the theories that are appropriate in the
chapters assigned to this module. Use those theories to analyze the situation you have
defined and create a clear foundation for your view of the situation. Your opinions are
important and useful, but not sufficient to make a case for a specific course of action. The
theory, models, and concepts that you find in your readings are what you must use to create
a valid argument for your suggested course of action.
Section 3: Conclusion and recommendations. Up to now, you have been analyzing and
comparing options. Here is where you pull together the different threads of your analysis
and determine a course of action. Also, make recommendations about what the company
should do in the future. Make sure your justifications clearly flow from your analysis. Make
managerial and policy recommendations for future change endeavors.
Section 4: References. List at least two sources (in addition to the sources provided in the
module and your text) where you located additional information to support your views.
General guidance: Include a title page, and label the four sections. Your paper should be 2-4
pages in length, not including the title and reference pages. All citations should be in APA 6th or 7th
Edition format. Double space your paper, use Times New Roman, 12-point font, with one
inch margins.
