The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is cross-sectional panel survey used to collect quantitative data on adult behaviors and risk factors.

Here is the information for reference

Data can be qualitative or quantitative. Qualitative data are helpful to generate a hypothesis and gather information if little is known about an expected association. Focus groups, key informant interviews, and case studies are types of qualitative data collection methods used to identify common themes from which to build a hypothesis. Quantitative data collection and analysis are used to test a hypothesis and make comparisons to determine the direction and strength of a potential association. The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) is cross-sectional panel survey used to collect quantitative data on adult behaviors and risk factors. It is one of the largest U.S. health data collection efforts. The data can be used to analyze associations on a state or country level.

For this assignment, use the “BRFSS Web-Enabled Analysis Tool” and the “Calculation Odds Ratio” worksheet. Refer to the “Odds Ratio Interpretation” document for assistance as needed.

Review the Grant Management Cycle

REVIEW THE GRANT MANAGEMENT CYCLE

Review the Grant Management Cycle

Your grant application is nearly done! There’s just one more piece you’ll need to complete for the application process to be complete.

In addition to laying out the all of the goals and objectives, you’ll need to show the funders how you plan to measure whether or not those goals and objectives are being met. This is all part of the grant management that will take place after you receive a grant.

Your job now is to determine how you will evaluate the success of the program. You will need to create a document that considers the following questions:

  1. What questions will the organization’s evaluation activities seek to answer?
  2. What are the evaluation plans and time frames?
    • What kinds of data will be collected?
    • At what points?
    • Using what strategies or instruments?
    • Using what comparison group or baseline, if any?
  3. If the intention is to study a sample of participants, how will this sample be selected?
  4. What procedures will be used to determine whether the program was implemented as planned?
  5. Who will conduct the evaluation?
  6. Who will receive the results?
  7. How does this program or project define success?

Create a 2–3 page document that answers each of the questions at a high level. This document should be written in such a way that it can be shared across the Resource Center as well as with volunteers and partners in the program so they can understand how the program will be evaluated throughout the grant cycle. While you want the information to be clear and specific, it’s not necessary to go into great detail. It should be easily understood by all.

2 – Fully discuss and examine the limitations placed on freedom during the Cold War. Then compare those circumstances with those during the Red Scare after World War I. What was the same? What was different? Were restrictions on civil liberties justified in both cases? Why, or why not? How did Americans react in each era?

3 – How did the States Rights’ Democratic Party and the Progressive Party reflect America in the Cold War? Were both parties justified in their definitions of American freedom? Why, or why not? Explain.

how effective is the Carnegie Classification at characterizing the institution you have selected?

how effective is the Carnegie Classification at characterizing the institution you have selected?

Starting in 1970, the Carnegie Commission on Higher Education developed the Carnegie Classification of colleges and universities to support its program of research and policy analysis. It is widely considered the leading framework for recognizing and describing the diverse types of institutions in U.S. higher education over the past four decades.

Select an institution of higher education and analyze its Carnegie Classification within the historic and social context of that institution’s programs, profile, size, and setting. Review the institution’s mission from its website and evaluate its mission. Based on that mission, how effective is the Carnegie Classification at characterizing the institution you have selected?
