Chapter 4I went to 3 different gym locations in Los Angeles and asked 100 men and 100 women these 3 questions. “Do you ever feel uncomfortable working out at the gym? How often do you come to the gym? Would you prefer to workout at a gender segregated gym? 12% of men and 67% of women said that they have felt uncomfortable working out at the gym? 32% of men said they come to the gym 3 times a week, and 63% of women said they come to the gym once a week. 2% of men and 29% of women said that they would prefer to workout at a gender segregated gym. This shows a trend that tells me a few things. One thing I noticed is that the high percent of women feeling uncomfortable at the gym may be directly correlated to the lackof frequency throughout the week at the gym for women. Only 15% of women said that they go to the gym more than twice a week. Also, thelow percentage of both men and women that would prefer gender segregated gyms has a particular connotation to it as well. The fact that almost all the people questioned have never experienced a gender segregated gym and also the fact that the idea of seeing great bodies of the opposite sex is part of motivation to come to the gym in general for both men and women. Most women said they feel that the attention they get from the men at the gym seems aggressive, but they still appreciate some attention, however. Men also enjoy having the women to motivate them to showcase their strength atthe gym but also a substantial motivator as well. This tell me that the gym culture with both me and women sharing thatspace with boosted testosterone and skintight clothing teasing the mind of the lurkers, that sexual harassment is normal in this environment. Out of the 100 women questioned 73% of them have said that they have been harassed or even stalked by someone at the gym. This tells me that there needs to be more options for these women to go workout and not have to just hope they don’t get pressured by a overly aggressive creep at the gym. There’s a need fora chain of commercial women only gyms that women can feel comfortable in. Not only a safe haven away from potential harassmentfrom these overly aggressive men but also a place where the shy can come improve their body and not feel embarrassed because men are around.  Also a place they don’t have to feel intimidated by these

stereotypes about how lifting weights will make you look like a man, but they will see other women that are beautiful and strong and realizethat there are tons of benefits in weightlifting and it will not make you look like a man. Learn tips from female fitness professionals and learnabout how fitness can help them with their pains throughout their menstrual cycle as well s stress relief. These are just some examples of things that women will be more open to learning without the intimidations of men being around preventing that.

What would be the risks of forming a strategic alliance in  terms of the firm’s profitability ratios?

Refer to Tables A-1 through A-5 in Appendix II  I have attached them of the text for the  operational definitions of and formulas for numerous common financial  ratios, including profitability, liquidity, leverage, activity, and  shareholders’ return. Using these formulas, complete at least one ratio  from each of the five categories, though you may apply as many of the  ratios for which you can find the required information in the firm’s  financial reports. On your calculations page, specify for which formulas  you are solving.

In an assessment of approximately 750 words, address the following:

  1. Determine  which of the ratios provide the most key insights into the firm’s  current level of performance. How can you assess whether the results of  your calculations are positive or negative? Explain which of the ratios  give you reason to be concerned with the organization’s current strategy  and why.
  2. The Organizational and Operational Plans assignment  references the possible benefits and risks of forming a strategic  alliance. What would be the risks of forming a strategic alliance in  terms of the firm’s profitability ratios? Which of those five ratios is  most likely to reveal immediate information for analysis of the  alliance’s effectiveness?
  3. Considering today’s financial climate,  how likely is it that the organization could acquire the capital  necessary to support an aggressive value-enhancement strategy? From  where would that capital originate? Compared to current interest rates,  what do you believe is a realistic interest rate the firm might incur?  Which of the liquidity ratios will be impacted by the influx of capital,  if borrowed?

Submit your calculations with your written response.

ERP System can help increase efficiencies and profits

Many companies are investigating how an ERP System can help increase efficiencies and profits. Companies are presented with a number of options which they need to consider when deciding on an ERP system.

ERP Decisions:

On-premise – refers to the traditional approach; a company purchases a license for an ERP system and install the system on its own server.

Hosted ERP System – refers to purchasing a license for an ERP system but a third party hosts the system in the cloud. This is also referred to as Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS).

Cloud ERP System – refers to an ERP system that is developed to operate entirely in a cloud environment. The company pays a subscription to access the ERP system and shares it with other companies. This is also referred to as Software as a Service (SaaS).

Instructions:

For this week’s assignment you are tasked with investigating and analyzing which of the above mentioned ERP System set-ups would work best for

  1. A small company with less than $1 Mill. in revenue; 3 employees; projected growth in revenue over the next 5 years is 15% year over year. Company management plans to hire 4 additional employees over the next 5 years.
  2. A large, well established organization that has some ERP components in place, but wants to strengthen its Operations Management by integrating the various systems into one robust ERP System.

You will then decide, based on your comparative assessment, which system works best for the two scenarios described under a) and b). Be specific and explain your decision! Use sources to support your decisions!

#1. How important are a quality culture and a risk culture for effective organization management?

#2. Discuss their relationship between quality management and customer satisfaction

#3. Small to medium businesses are exposed to risks on a daily basis. The impact of these risks could cause a decrease in revenue and/or an increase in expenses. In addition, you must describe what the terms in the insurance contracts mean and how they can be applicable to each business area.

In order to this, you will need to create a portfolio document with the following sections::

  • Identify the two basic types of insurance.
  • Describe how insurance policies can be used to protect the business from risks caused by certain events and from risks to their employees’ personal security while on the job.

  • Identify the common terms found in insurance contracts that specify exactly what risks an insurer will cover.
  • Define catastrophe theory and how it differs from risk management principles.
