Application Assignment.

Summary:

This application assignment requires you to share a newsworthy story that demonstrates how one course concept from Module 5 has been used in practice.  The concept that you select must come from either Chapter 9 or Chapter 10 and be 500 words of content.

Assigned textbook chapters from the course do not count as external sources.

News Story Option (if chosen):

• News story must be from a credible source within the last 4 years with appropriate citation.
• Context must be provided on why the story is immediately relevant to the topics being covered.
• Responses which are purely opinion and anecdotal are not considered to be substantive in nature.
• Two external sources to support information required In addition to the news story from a credible source.
• Original news story from an external source plus two additional external sources required.
• Assigned textbook chapters from the course do not count as external sources.

Assignment Structure:

• Make sure to identify your concept in the title or first sentence of your Application Assignment.
• Assignment must provide only a brief summary of your work related news article/workplace experience to frame your discussion so that what you are discussing is clear but is not the majority of the post.
• Primary focus of the assignment is not describing your story in great detail but rather meeting the relevant criteria outlined in the application assignment rubric using your work related article or workplace experience as the context.
• ****500 WORDS total, 2 external sources not including the news  article !!****

Turnitin Requirements:

• For each assignment, your similarity score must meet a threshold of no more than 25%.
• Assignments with greater than 25% similarity must be revised and resubmitted to Turnitin until the 25% threshold is achieved.
• For resubmissions, it may take up to 24 hours for a new similarity score.
• It is your responsibility to allow enough time to receive a Turnitin similarity score report.
• Assignments with more than 25% threshold will receive 2% points off for each 1% above 2%.  For example, a score of 28% similarity will receive a 6% penalty.
