Unlocked: Monday, October 25, 2021 12:01 AM MDT – Sunday, November 7, 2021 11:59 PM MST.Subscribe
Overview
This discussion is your opportunity to reflect on the course and your performance so far. What is working, what is not and why not? What will you need to do to meet your learning goals?
Instructions
Compose a Reflection on learning statement for the discussion board. This is an exercise in “metacognition,” or recognizing how and what you are learning. Share something which has surprised or astonished you about the earliest periods of World History or makes you go Wow, I didn’t know that! Why was that information astonishing or new to you? What insight does it give you into the history of the world?
Then evaluate your participation in this course as well as the course itself. What is working? What isn’t? What do you need to focus on to succeed and how can I help?
You should write at least 300 words in your response.
Reply to at least two other students’ posts with substantive responses of at least 100–150 words. Replies to your instructor are optional for Reflection discussions, but encouraged! The instructor will also respond with suggestions, but you are encouraged to offer each other support and advice to help you be successful for the remainder of the course.
Initial post is thorough and complete and includes appropriate terms and concepts learned in the course.
All elements are included.

I think that the hardest part of this class is I have so much homework that I have to do in ONE WEEK and I have FOUR classes with a maximum of 9 things to do in each class and not just that but each little thing has a reading assignment or even a 4-hour assignment I have to do. So for this week, I had 30 assignments that needed to be done and I am still cramming to get it done. I just think it is hard to get all of these assignments done and still get good grades and still work a full-time job. This is very hard for me to do all of this stuff and still get good grades and work. All week I have been staying up till 11:30-12 at night and then waking up at 6:30 am to get school done. I have debated on not doing anything tonight then remember that these classes cost money. And it sucks that my whole family gets to stay out and go do fun things while I have to sit here and do this schooling.
Also i am not very much into history and when i seen that there is a lot of assignments with history i push it to the side and do it when it is the day of needing to be turned and so i really think it is hard to learn about history when it does not really interest me that much and the reasoning is because i feel like people do not really need to learn about bc or past life experiences that have been million and billions years ago. This does not really help with life goals but at the same time it is nice to know about what has happened in the past life and know the answer if someone asks you a question. It makes you feel really good when you can answer someone elses questions when you do not even need to reseach it.

History has always been a subject of interest for me. When i signed up for it, I did NOT except the kind of reading we’d be doing. It’s so much! I mean, don’t get me wrong, reading is my best friend (because I literally have none) so I enjoy the time I do have to be able to sit down with a cup of tea to just read the Etext we got. It gives me an excuse to go into a world I no longer live in and seeing how each decision made can influence the world as we know today. Not only has the reading influence how I look at History, it influences my decisions I want to make to ensuring our historical footprint is on the right track, to lead the way to better history, writing, story-telling, curiosity of connecting things, and decision making. The one thing I found most interesting was how different humans who are influenced by nature can come up with many different gods and goddesses in honor of specific natural bringings. Such as the egyptian gods/goddesses and Greek Gods/goddesses. I talked about these two briefly in one of my discussions last week. Each group were able to honor a someone who took care of specific human assumption of the world in the very early days. For example, Isis and Hecate were two different women in charge of the same properties of spirituality: magic, spells, and healing. Although the stories of the goddesses are highly different, the rituals to honor them are different, and of course they are depicted differently within each society. Although mythology isn’t in either of the modules in the Etext, the different ways people were able to connect in their culture that mythology influenced is spoke of within the Etext. Not to mention how we can get a good picture of things and their chronological order of events and how they tie into new eras of life and how cultures can die or how they can be reborn into something entirely different.
I think for now, how I am going about my approach to this class is working. Although las week was busy and I had no time to respond to any of my peers 🙁 . So I will continue to read what they learn to get a better understanding of our class and able to connect to them.
