- Imagine you were to give a lecture on important ideas and movements the Long Late Nineteenth Century (1870-1914) and could use only 8 images/artifacts to highlight your message. What images would you choose and why? (Remember one image can illustrate more than 1 idea or movement)

- The 1920s saw the rise of authoritarian regimes in Italy and Russia (think Mussolini and Lenin). What appeal did they have in common and how were they different? What lessons can we learn from their rise if we are to safeguard our democracy from authoritarianism?
