• Read carefully chapters 1 and 2 in the text. Note the functions art played in a culture, and specifically what these two particular wall paintings tell us about the two cultures and times from which they come.
  • Next consider the following :
    • Look at the cave art in chapter 1, Hall of the Bulls, fig. 1.1., and the wall painting,Ti Watching a Hippopotamus Hunt, fig. 1.21, and compare the two paintings on EACH of the following four points:

4. Compare the two in terms of form and content. (Refer back to the introduction to the text for information on commonalities of visual arts.)
5. Find a minimum of three (3) resources on the Internet that will help you answer the above four questions. Be sure to copy the title page and URL of each web site you found. Be sure your links are ACTIVE. Briefly describe EACH resource and tell what information it added to your report.
